shit, does that mean we'll have to up your A&E Editor's salary?
I actually loved the new format - smaller, much closer and intimate.
I really liked bringing out five former winners to announce the candidates for the major awards. It was hokey at times, but I enjoyed it a lot more.
I thought following the theme from beginning to end of making a movie gave the award show a little more coherency.
Hugh Jackman? Not too excited about. Didn't hate it, but he ain't no Billy Crystal. Or even Letterman. He's talented, but I wasn't looking for song/dance talent, I was looking for a good/funny host.
Sean Penn - great commie lovin' homo lovin' acceptance speech.
And Dustin Lance Black's for the screenplay as well!
"if Harvey had not been taken from us 30 years ago, I think he’d want me to say to all of the gay and lesbian kids out there tonight who have been told they are less than by their churches, or by the government, or by their families, that you are beautiful, wonderful creatures of value."
I'll leave all salary talk to the annual review. I thought Jackman was great in the opening, and then had little else to do. If only they could bring back Billy Crystal just one more time!
1) Modest Mouse - Live on Zed 2) Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans 3) Led Zeppelin I 4) Brian Eno - Ambient 1 / Music for Airports 5) Modest Mouse - Interstate 8 *t i n y b l u e m a r b l e believes music should be shared. Email us to download our music and to share yours with us.
