And behind this trapdoor...

Secretly, I really, really miss D&D.

What movie/TV is this from?

I have yet to see 30 Rock. I was home when it started but it wasn't that big yet - at least not big enough to make me find time to watch it. Now I'm very curious.... those comparison clips b/t Kenneth the Page and Bobby Jindal are hilarious.

Though this isn't 30 Rock...

This is 30 Rock, I think last season. I've been saving it on tivo for this clip alone. The chance to share with you and Tim brings it full circle. It was the graph paper that really amused me.

I don't think I miss D&D, but I'm grateful I 'get' some seminal geek culture stuff.

I DO miss D&D, but not in the sense that I would like to spend a weekend doing it. Rather, I miss D&D in the same sense that I miss watching Batman (the TV show, not the cartoon) everyday after school.

Not too high on my things-I-want-to-do list, but memories... ah.

Is it possible to make DVD from tivo?

By the way, I was always an half-elf ranger. I was super cool.

Yeah, I'm signing in as Soren. It's my disguise.

I see, I do agree then that I miss it as well.

I was speaking more tangibly as I actually got to play a few times last year and the experience left me feeling that this is not something that I can enjoy anymore.

As far as Tivo, yes, I can copy and convert recordings and burn them on DVD. It's not a fast process, but it can be done.

hmmm....

30 rock might be just the best present EVER for me to receive in Korea.

Of course, they may not work on my Korean computer b/c of dvd coding. fuckers! I'll have to see if I can revive the USA laptop I brought...

I've been thinking about this tangible D&D experience. I'm pretty sure I would accept an invitation to play as long as I was very close to those that invited me (say, you and Tim basically). If I wasn't close enough, i'd be far to embarassed to play. I'm a little embarassed just writing it...

If you have time/interest, I'd love details of your last adventure. That would make for a good story around the campfire.

dvd coding should not be a problem. I think I can make a universal dvd. I'm going to look into that.

Saweeet! That would be totally awesome. If you do that for me, I'll be sure to buy you a very special souvinour -- something much more unique than I'll get Tim!

Heads up if you haven't heard already - Tim has his laptop.

word on the laptop. Time to accept it's no longer 1993.

I've been thinking about the graph paper. It keeps crossing my mind.

I remember going to the store and spending plenty of time looking for the best pack (can't even remember how they were different). Taking the paper to middle school and drawing dungeons behind my book during class. I was awesome!

I LOVED graph paper. LOVED it.

Beyond dungeon design, I would use it to create floor plans for space ships. Especially bridges, I loved designing bridges.
